Sharing our best practice on a global scale

Frog Environmental has been invited to speak at one of the world’s largest environmental conferences.

The International Erosion Control Association (IECA) brings erosion, sediment control and stormwater industry professionals together for four days to share best practice, educate and network.

Our Technical Director will bring insight on how we advocate the use of interceptor ditches to enhance water treatment on linear construction sites across the United Kingdom.

Delegates will gain knowledge of the increased risk of pollution during the construction phase, the need for a dynamic approach to surface water management and awareness of a range of simple interventions that can result in significant water quality improvements in a constrained footprint.

“Often there’s a lack of space on sites to house treatment lagoons or attenuation ponds which minimise pollution risks during temporary works. As a company founded on finding innovative solutions to tackle common problems, we’ve found a new way that provides effective, low carbon, rain-ready silt and erosion management systems using ditches to overcome challenging topography or limited space.

“It’s a privilege to be presenting our case studies and ideas at IECA, and I look forward to sharing our knowledge with a global audience of like-minded enthusiasts.”

Leela O’Dea, Technical Director and speaker representative for Frog Environmental

Leela will explore the role of interceptor ditches and how they can play an important part in the movement and management of water on a linear scheme, where physical adaptations can offer additional attenuation and solid removal, and how easily available materials and sediment control products can be used to polish water.

The presentation will also discuss how Gel Flocculant can be deployed in a interceptor ditch to improve the performance of attenuation ponds by separating the solid loading from surface water before being discharged offsite.

Members of Frog Environmental’s team will be on hand to answer questions and talk through their eco products at stand C523 with Clearflow Group, the US provider of high-quality flocculant solutions. Both companies work very closely together and share a common vision to improve the way water is treated to benefit the environment.

IECA takes place on the 25 – 28 February in Spokane, Washington. Leela’s presentation will be on Monday 26 February at 9.40am. Download the full schedule here.
