Silt Control Response Kit
Every construction site needs to plan to prevent silt pollution. We develop site specific, palletised, silt control response kits to help maintain environmental compliance throughout your project.
The need for emergency silt control on construction sites is often associated with unexpected rainfall. If excess water cannot be treated or stored, then there are a number of measures that can be taken to control pollution caused by muddy water leaving site.
We offer two solutions:
A standard Silt Control Response Kit
Comprised of Silt Mats™ and Silt Wattles that can be used in construction site drainage ditches to slow the flow and trap silt, or on land to prevent dirty water spilling into streams.
Standard Silt Response Kit: 10 Silt Mats™; 5 Silt Wattles (each 30cm diameter by 2m long); laminated tool box talk; guidance on use of the kit *please note this does not come with fittings/pegs. All materials should be stored in dry place or under a tarpaulin.
A treated Silt Control Response Kit
Used as an in-ditch treatment method to separate silt and other sediment from surface water. Comprised of Floc Mat™, Silt Mats™ and Silt Wattles the design incorporates Gel Flocculant, a synthetic anionic flocculant that targets fine clays in suspension. It is particularly effective if pumping muddy excavations across a dispersion field. The use of flocculants should be agreed with the regulator and Floc Mat™ should not be used directly in a natural watercourse.
Treated Silt Response Kit: 5 Floc Mat™; 5 Silt Mats™; 5 Silt Wattles (each 30cm diameter by 2m long); laminated tool box talk; guidance on use of the kit *please note this does not come with fittings/pegs. All materials should be stored in dry place or under a tarpaulin.
A Pipe Reactor can be included with the treated silt response kit to support the effective treatment of water pumped from muddy excavations, following best practice guidelines that ensure the silts separated from the water are collected. Pipe Reactor can either be gravity fed or used with a 3” or 4” pump, depending on site topography and flow rate requirements.
All products found in the Frog Environmental emergency silt control kits can be purchased individually. We offer site specific advice as part of every sale and will help design a system based on the client’s requirements.
