We at Frog Environmental are always looking at creative ways to help the environment and to support community projects, whether it is using our products or the packaging we take at the office.
At our main office in Barton we receive and have to deal with plenty of packaging, including pallets, Bubble Tubing bobbins and shipping crates.
Just down the road are the wonderful and very community focussed Yoxall Community Allotments, which has some great environmental projects including rainwater harvesting.
Woodcrafting solutions
Local resident, allotment user and woodcrafter, Paul Bellamy of Woodcrafts Blakenhall, came up with a great solution for our excess wood and interesting packaging. Taking our waste over the years, Paul has built some community spaces for those who live in the area, not just allotment holders.
Among the buildings created were a storage shed and a bird hide, all built from recycled timber, although the main shed was cladded in purchased corrugated sheet. The bird hide is next to a public footpath which runs through the site and is enjoyed by many people.
The basic and essential principle of ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’ has really been championed here which really resonates with us as a business.
Our commitment to community
It is important to us all here at Frog Environmental that we deliver a positive contribution to the environment and in doing so, create a positive impact for society.
Another way we demonstrate our commitment to community is through our Frog Community Fund. The fund has been running for several years and celebrates environmental and sustainable projects delivered at a community level.
Our customers can help contribute to our Community Fund. We deliver products on wooden pallets, and for every pallet that is returned by them to our depot for re-use, we contribute an extra £10 into our Community Fund.
