Silt Prevention Devices

Silt Control Response Kit

Every construction site needs to plan to prevent silt pollution. The Silt Control Response Kit equips site teams to respond fast to silt pollution events, contain risk and keep projects compliant.

The need for emergency silt control on construction sites is often associated with unexpected rainfall.

If excess water cannot be treated or stored, then there are a number of measures that can be taken to control pollution caused by muddy water leaving site.

We offer two solutions:

  • A standard Silt Control Response Kit

Comprised of Silt Mats™ and Silt Wattles that can be used in construction site drainage ditches to slow the flow and trap silt, or on land to prevent dirty water spilling into streams.

  • A treated Silt Control Response Kit

Used as an in-ditch treatment method to separate silt and other sediment from surface water. Comprised of Floc Mat®, Silt Mats™ and Silt Wattles, the design incorporates Gel Flocculant which tackles clay-rich effluent and fine particles.

Each kit is palletised, easy to store and deploy and supported by site-specific advice so the specification matches your drainage layout, flows and regulatory requirements.

For pumped excavations and higher loads, the kit integrates with our Pipe Reactor to dose Gel Flocculant safely and consistently.

Whilst we offer standard Silt Control Response Kit options, we also assemble palletised kits to match specific site requirements. Contact us to discuss site specific requirements.

Applications:
  • Drainage from construction sites
  • Used in artificial dispersion fields

They (Frog Environmental) were efficient in providing advice and the most appropriate product for our project. The team responded promptly to ensure the Bubble Curtain was delivered to the site on schedule.

It has worked well and has been great on site. We are demobilising this week, and the bubble curtain is already in store at our next site for reuse!

The Kex Gill road realignment scheme is a challenging project with multiple environmental risks including management of silt and water quality of the surrounding environment given the locality of designated sites.

Frog Environmental are providing us with extensive technical support, including the design, supply and install of their silt control products on site to ensure the project minimises risks to the watercourses in the project vicinity and prevents impact on highly sensitive aquatic species.

It’s great to be working with them and we’re delighted with the success of the whole project.
