In the News Silt Control Water Treatment

Ground Engineering has featured a Frog Environmental system to manage and treat silty water created by construction activities on phase one of the Environment Agency’s Rochdale and Littleborough flood alleviation scheme.

Working with Volker Stevin and the Environment Agency in conjunction with Rochdale Borough Council, the Littleborough flood defence works demonstrates how simple, site-specific solutions can have a big impact – using a “rain-ready” system of settlement ponds and silt capture channels to manage and treat silty water before it can be discharged into a watercourse.

The article highlights the project team’s innovative use of our Silt Capture Channels and Pipe Reactor as an effective water treatment system for cleaning surface water and reducing pollution risks.

We design environmentally-friendly, low carbon solutions to tackle common challenges on construction sites. By installing our Silt Capture Channel, the site team effectively managed surface water runoff without costly infrastructure or disruption.

We design and provide:

  • Easy-to-use solutions
  • Tailored site advice
  • Real-world results
  • Rain Ready™ systems which can be installed by site teams or through our network of installers.
