BioHaven Pocket Wetlands

These BioHaven pocket wetlands on the Regent’s Canal are just 1 year old but look how well they’ve established in this short time. They are providing habitat for many different types of animal found on the canal from nesting moorhens through to buzzing bee’s and a wide array of invertebrate life. We love projects like this; they’re straightforward and cost effective and provide real benefit to wildlife and water quality as well as making for a prettier place for people. The unique design of BioHaven means that the system is designed to mimic the behaviour of a natural wetland and perform many of the same ecosystem services. We enjoyed working with London Wildlife Trust and Canal & River Trust on these projects; simple & effective with multiple benefits.
